Beauty Series: Insiders Secret To The Beauty Industry

While walking through the makeup aisle at your local beauty supply store, you might find a variety of mascaras claiming they’re Better Than Sex, Voluminous, Colossal, or Grand, in order to catch your attention, so you will buy these products. After swiping these mascara wands against your lashes, do these brands ever live up to the hype?

A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon L’oreal’s new mascara called Voluminous Lash Paradise. This mascara’s packaging claims that “91% of users saw intense volumized lashes, 98% lengthening, and 87% saw more beautiful lashes.”

The mascara’s metallic pink packaging reminded me of Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. The claims and packaging were interesting, and caused me to question if it would perform like or better than the Too Faced mascara.

After opening the L’Oréal mascara the first thing I noticed was the shape of the wand. It was full and highly pigmented similar to its predecessor, but it lacked the spiral shape of the Too Faced mascara. Next I stroked my lashes with the L’Oréal mascara. It coated my lashes evenly, and it provided my lashes with a lot of length. The main difference I found between these brands is that the Too Faced formula provides more thickness to my lashes, while the L’Oréal gives me more length.

Since the L’Oréal cost $8.99 versus Too Faced $23 price tag, I will be repurchasing the L’Oréal Lash Paradise again. What’s your favorite mascara brand? Will you be trying L’Oréal’s Lash Paradise mascara?
